The University of Sussex is located in Falmer, East Sussex, England. It is mostly within the city limits of Brighton and Hove. Its large campus is surrounded by the South Downs National Park and offers easy access to Brighton city center 3.5 miles away. The University was established in 1959. The university received its Royal Charter in August 1961, the first generation of flat-glass universities.
