NEET PG 2025–26 Counselling: Supreme Court to Review Plea on Cutoff Reduction on 28th April
On April 28 2026, a plea will be heard at the Supreme Court of India regarding lowering of NEET PG 2025-26 cutoff. The case was heard by Justices PS Narasimha and Alok Aradhe, who heard the arguments made by Central government. The case involved a PIL against move to lower the NEET PG cut-off marks for 2025-26. Previously, on 13th January 2026 National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) issued an official announcement regarding a drop in NEET PG qualifying cut-off percentile for 2025-26 academic session. This led to even those candidates who scored zero percentile becoming eligible for admission. Satyam Singh Rajput had filed a petition at Supreme Court against the NBEMS announcement. It was claimed that it was unreasonable and unconstitutional to reduce the cut-off marks to zero or even negative percentiles after the declaration of results and conducting two rounds of counseling, violating Articles 14 and 21 of Constitution.
