Rajasthan NEET PG Counselling Choice Locking and Seat Allotment Process

Here is a step-by-step guide to the Rajasthan NEET PG Counselling Choice Locking and Seat Allotment Process-

Step 1: The applicants must register themselves online through the official counselling website using their NEET-PG details and registration fee within the stipulated time frame to proceed further.

Step 2: The applicants must log in to their registered account and access the online choice-filling section. It is advised that the applicants must have a stable internet connection before proceeding further.

Step 3: The applicants must visit all the participating college websites to add their preferred choices of colleges. Adding the maximum number of choices is recommended to have a higher probability of getting the seat.

Step 4: The applicants must arrange their choices in descending order of preference. This is a critical step as the seat allotment is done purely based on the preference order of the choices filled by the applicants.

Step 5: The applicants must carefully analyse their preference list to ensure that the order is correct and there are no wrong entries of college choices.

Step 6: An unlocked form is not considered complete and hence cannot be processed further for seat allotment. The locking confirmation needs to be saved for further records.

Step 7: The counselling authority will process all the data provided by the candidates after locking. The seat allotment result is then generated based on the NEET PG rank, preferences filled in by the candidates and availability of seats in different categories.

Step 8: The candidates need to download the seat allotment letter from their account on the declared date of the result.

Step 9: The fee for accepting the seat needs to be paid online by the candidates within the stipulated date. If not done so, the seat is deemed to be forfeited.

Step 10: The candidates need to report to the allotted college with all original documents and self-attested photocopies within the stipulated dates.

Rajasthan NEET PG Counselling Cut Off 2026

The Rajasthan NEET PG Counselling Cut Off 2026 will depend on NEET PG results, availability of seats and reservation norms. Some popular specialities like Dermatology, Radiology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology and General Medicine will have the highest closing ranks. Other specialities like Paediatrics, Surgery and Anaesthesia will have moderate closing ranks. Non-clinical subjects like Pathology and Microbiology may have relatively lower closing ranks. Reservation norms will affect the closing ranks and in subsequent counselling sessions, closing ranks may be slightly relaxed.

Choice Filling Strategy for Rajasthan NEET PG Counselling 2026

  • It is essential for the candidates to research each college extensively before initiating the process of filling out the choices. The factors that need to be considered are the faculty, infrastructure, clinical experience and location of the colleges.

  • The selection of a speciality should be given more importance while filling in the choices compared to the colleges. Compromising on the speciality of interest for a prestigious college may have an impact on future growth.

  • The candidates are advised to fill as many combinations of colleges as possible. This will increase the chances of getting a seat allotment, as the chances of higher preferences not being filled are less.

  • Before adding any college to the list of preferences, it is recommended that the candidates refer to the previous year’s cutoff ranks. This will help the candidates to have realistic expectations.

  • It is a common blunder for applicants to focus solely on the best colleges. To guarantee seat allotment, applicants should list moderately ranked colleges in their lower preference positions.

  • Government medical colleges should be ranked higher than private ones in the preference list due to their relatively low fee structure, better clinical exposure and academic reputation.

Common Mistakes to Avoid During Rajasthan NEET PG Counselling 2026

  • Many candidates realise their documents are missing or have expired at the last moment. It is advised to keep the NEET PG2026 scorecard, internship certificate and domicile proof ready well in advance.

  • Many candidates rely on their friends and coaching institutes rather than checking the NEET PG counselling 2026 official website. Missing one round can cause you to lose a seat. It is advised to keep an eye on the official website.

  • Many candidates fill out their preferences randomly. It is advised to fill in the preferences based on the faculties and location.

  • Many candidates delay reporting to the allotted college within the given time. This causes automatic cancellation of the allocated seat. It is advised to report on time.

  • Many candidates apply for Rajasthan government seats. These seats come with bond conditions and penalties. Many candidates accept the allocated seat without checking the conditions. This causes financial and legal problems.

  • Many candidates assume their category eligibility without verifying it. This causes disqualification of the candidates. It is advised to verify the category eligibility based on the official counselling rules.
