NEET UG 3 May 2026 Exam Cancelled After Rajasthan Paper Leak, CBI Investigation Ordered
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has cancelled NEET UG 2026 exam held on 3 May 2026 after allegations of a question paper leak in Rajasthan. NEET UG is country's biggest medical entrance examination and this year around 22 lakh students appeared for the test. The Government of India has ordered an investigation by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to find out how the paper was leaked. Officials are examining whether the leak occurred during the printing process or through someone involved preparing the question paper. NTA has confirmed that NEET UG 2026 will be conducted again. Students do not need to register again and those who choose not to appear for the re-exam will receive a full fee refund. The new exam date will be announced soon on the official NTA website.
CBI investigates the guess paper leak
The Government of India has handed over the case to the CBI for a detailed investigation. The agency will check how ‘guess paper’ was leaked and spread before the exam and whether it was part of an organised cheating system. The National Testing Agency has said it will fully support the investigation by providing all required records, data and documents. In Rajasthan, more than 45 people have been detained so far in connection with the NEET paper leak case. Early reports suggest that the leaked material may have come from a printing press, raising concerns about security during the paper printing process. Sources say that a handwritten copy of the question paper was also shared. This suggests that the leak might have happened while the paper was being printed.
