NEET PG 2026 exam pattern

NEET PG is a nationwide entrance exam conducted for admission to postgraduate medical programs including MD, MS and PG Diploma courses in India. NEET PG exam pattern outlines the structure of examination such as total questions, types of questions, time limit, marking criteria and language choices. Candidates improve their preparation strategy by knowing the exam format and requirements. NEET PG exam will be held in August 2026 in an online computer based mode. 

The duration of examination will be 3 hours and 30 minutes with a maximum score of 800 marks. A total of 200 multiple choice questions will be asked in exam based on an MBBS syllabus. Applicants will be awarded 4 marks for each correct answer, while 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect response. No penalty will be applied for unanswered questions. NEET PG examination will be organised in English language. Since each section must be completed within a fixed time and cannot be revisited once exited, effective time management during the exam is extremely important.
