NEET PG 2026 Live Updates: How Was the Paper? Check Difficulty Level & Answer Key Information

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) organized the NEET PG 2026 examination on 30th August 2026 for medical graduates who want to join postgraduate courses in medicine. NEET PG 2026 exam was organized in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode in respective centers across nation. The exam was conducted in a single shift and that too from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM which meant that candidates got three hours and thirty minutes to attempt paper. In the NEET PG exam, there were 180 multiple choice questions, with a total of 720 marks according to marking scheme prescribed for test. As per marking scheme, candidates would get four marks for each correct answer whereas one mark would be deducted for each wrong answer attempted. There were no marks for unattempted questions. According to first-hand feedback provided by candidates, it was found that difficulty level of NEET PG 2026 question paper was moderate to difficult.

NEET PG 2026 Paper Analysis: Moderate to Difficult

Students who have given NEET PG 2026 test have already given their opinion about pattern of questions in question paper. According to students’ views, overall level of difficulty in NEET PG exam was moderate. It has been observed by students that a student who had prepared well and understood concepts properly could attempt most of questions easily. Questions were asked on clinical integrated and concept-based topics. Candidates were required to use their knowledge instead of just memorising. There were some questions with similar answers, which were relatively difficult.

Upon declaration of result, qualified applicants will be able to appear in counselling process of NEET PG for admission into MD, MS and PG diploma programs.
