MCC NEET UG Counselling 2026 LIVE Updates: Registration & NMC New Guidelines

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will begin the NEET UG Counselling 2026 process from 5th August 2026, as per the official counselling schedule released by the authority. Along with the announcement of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test UG 2026 Counselling schedule, MCC has already released new counselling guidelines that aim to facilitate the process and minimize the challenges that MBBS and BDS candidates face while seeking admission to medical institutions across the country. Until 29th July 2026, counselling body had not posted any definite dates on its official website. As per expected schedule, registration process for counselling is expected to start in early August 2026. The admission process will most probably be carried out in four counselling rounds such as Round 1, Round 2, Mop-Up Round and Stray Vacancy Round. Students are advised to stay updated on notifications issued by MCC and refrain from relying on unconfirmed schedules circulating on social media and messaging platforms such as Telegram or WhatsApp.

NEET UG Counselling 2026 Expected Dates

MCC Removes Physical Reporting for Seat Upgrade Candidates 

Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has released a notification dated 28th July 2026 with an important change in MCC medical counselling process. As per new guidelines, candidates having a seat allotment and select “willing to upgrade” option during further counselling process will no longer need to go to their allotted college for physical reporting.
